中国文化展示团队精彩亮相2026比佛利多元文化艺术节 Chinese Cultural Showcase Team Makes a Spectacular Appearance at the 2026 Beverly Multicultural Arts Festival

[South Bay Chinese  American Association – July 12] On July 12, 2026, the annual Beverly Hills Multicultural Arts Festival, hosted by the City of Beverly Hills, was held with great fanfare. A Chinese cultural showcase team—jointly formed by the American Chinese Cultural Association (ACCA), the South Bay Chinese  American Association (SBCAA), the North American *Dream of the Red Chamber* Society, Dragon Lake Entertainment, the US-China Peace and Friendship Association, and other non-profit organizations—made its debut at this international multicultural event. Through a rich array of cultural displays, they joined cultural groups from around the world to present a feast of multicultural exchange.

Centered on the theme of "enhancing understanding through cultural exchange and giving back to the community through public service," the Chinese cultural showcase team presented the best of traditional Chinese culture through various formats—including a cultural parade, stage performances, culinary showcases, and interactive experiences—thereby fostering exchange and mutual learning among diverse ethnic groups.

During the cultural parade, the Chinese delegation formed a procession featuring elements rich in traditional Chinese heritage, such as gongs and drums, waist drums, a mini-lion dance, a "dragon-head" silk ribbon dance, a Hanfu-clad lantern troupe, and ceremonial canopies. The resounding drumbeats, fluttering colorful ribbons, and elegant Hanfu costumes fully demonstrated the profound depth and unique charm of Chinese culture, infusing the festival with a vibrant Eastern atmosphere.

The main stage featured a rich program of performances, including gong and drum displays, ethnic dances, martial arts, and a dance showcasing traditional Chinese etiquette. These exciting acts highlighted the artistic appeal of traditional Chinese culture while reflecting the positive, united, and cooperative spirit of the overseas Chinese community.

The cultural exhibition area was equally captivating. Traditional intangible cultural heritage skills—such as calligraphy, paper-cutting, and dough figurine sculpting—alongside interactive activities like a "chopstick challenge" and Chinese delicacies such as sugar paintings, *tanghulu* (candied fruit skewers), and cotton candy, attracted people of diverse backgrounds to stop and participate. Many families brought their children to join in, experiencing the charm of Chinese culture firsthand and further strengthening understanding and friendship across different cultures. This marked the first time the Chinese cultural showcase team participated in the Beverly Hills Multicultural Arts Festival. The event not only highlighted the rich depth of excellent traditional Chinese culture but also exemplified the positive image of Southern California’s Chinese community organizations—characterized by unity, resource sharing, community service, and active integration into mainstream society—thereby playing a constructive role in fostering multicultural exchange and community cohesion.

Lin Xu, Chairman of the US-China Cultural Association Foundation, stated that Chinese culture serves as a vital bridge connecting diverse civilizations. He expressed hope that this event would enable the broader American public to learn about and appreciate Chinese culture, fostering mutual understanding and deepening friendships through exchange and mutual learning, while jointly promoting people-to-people cultural ties between the U.S. and China.

Lin Lianlian, Chair of the event organizing committee, noted that the team's debut at the festival was a significant achievement resulting from the collaborative efforts of Southern California’s Chinese community organizations. She extended her gratitude to the participating organizations, artists, performers, volunteers, and behind-the-scenes staff, expressing hope for continued cooperation to leverage culture as a bond in building an inclusive, diverse, and harmonious community.

Wang Wei, President of the US-China Cultural Association, highlighted the close communication maintained between the community organizations and the Beverly Hills organizers throughout the planning and execution phases. Meticulous planning and organization went into every aspect, including the parade, stage performances, cultural displays, food safety, booth setup, traffic coordination, logistics, and volunteer services. The team's successful debut was the fruit of the time and dedication invested by organization leaders, artists, performers, volunteers, and caring individuals from all walks of life, fully demonstrating a spirit of unity, collaboration, and selfless service.

Ma Shengxing and Chu Luyi, Chairman and President respectively of the South Bay Chinese  American Association, stated that the association remains committed to its mission of serving the community, promoting culture, and fostering exchange, and was honored to join other organizations in this cultural celebration. Moving forward, the association aims to leverage its platform—through initiatives in arts and culture, public service, and youth development—to drive community integration, encourage multicultural exchange, and further strengthen the friendship between the people of the U.S. and China. Liu Wei, the event's chief director, stated that the event was planned around the concept of "blending tradition with modernity and balancing presentation with interaction." Through a diverse array of performances and cultural experiences, the organizers hope to allow people of various ethnic backgrounds to experience the unique charm of Chinese culture firsthand, thereby further fostering cultural exchange and mutual understanding among communities.

Catherine, Vice President of the South Bay Chinese  American Association, noted that the success of such cultural exchanges relies on the quiet dedication of every performer, volunteer, and behind-the-scenes staff member. She expressed gratitude to the entire team for their hard work and expressed hope for future collaborations with more community partners to host high-quality cultural events, bringing Chinese culture into the mainstream and onto the global stage.

The debut of the Chinese cultural showcase team at the Beverly Multicultural Arts Festival not only brought a rich variety of Chinese cultural experiences to the local community but also highlighted the spirit of unity, dedication, and community service embodied by Southern California’s Chinese community organizations. Looking ahead, these organizations will continue to work hand in hand—using culture to build bridges of friendship and public service to unite the community—to foster multicultural exchange, deepen people-to-people ties between China and the U.S., and contribute to the creation of a more inclusive and harmonious society.
