南湾多社团携手青少年义工，共谱重阳、万圣敬老温情篇章 South Bay Organizations Join Forces with Youth Volunteers to Bring Warmth to Seniors Through Double Ninth and Halloween Celebrations

(South Bay News) October 18, 2026 is the Double Ninth Festival and Halloween is approaching. The South Bay Chinese American Association of California USA and the South Bay Elderly Care Association (SBSCO) joined hands with the community charity team to organize more than 40 actors and volunteers to visit two nursing homes, The Earlwood and Driftwood Healthcare Center in Torrance City, to send holiday blessings to the elderly.

Mira Costa High School "Elderly Melodies" student club, as well as youth volunteers from West High, Jefferson Middle, PV High, Peninsula High and other schools actively participated.

During the condolence performance at Driftwood Healthcare Center, the South Bay waist drum team, cheongsam team, dance team, and Tai Chi team took turns to show off the Chinese culture; Hawaiian hula dance, singing, brass performance, and piano solo complemented each other, playing a harmonious movement of multiculturalism. Joyous songs and laughter filled the hall, applause and cheers came one after another, the elderly were smiling and dancing, and the whole hall was filled with warmth.

All kindnesses gather together to form a new chapter. This cross-community and cross-generational love action not only accompanies and warms the elderly with true love, but also allows young people to understand the meaning of respecting the elderly and inherit the heart of benevolence through their own practice, demonstrating the Nanwan community's public welfare sentiment of unity, cooperation and mutual help.

The Double Ninth Festival honors the elderly and spreads virtues, and the Halloween brings warmth and gathers true feelings. My heartfelt thanks to all charity organizations, performance teams and youth volunteers for their dedicated dedication! May the spirit of respecting the elderly continue, may the flowers of charity bloom, and may the fire of great love be passed down from generation to generation!

（南湾讯）2026年10月18日，是九九重阳节，临近万圣节，美国加州南湾华人协会（South Bay Chinese American Association of California USA）和南湾长者关爱协会（SBSCO）携手社区爱心团队，组织四十余名演员与义工，走进 Torrance 市 The Earlwood 与 Driftwood Healthcare Center 两家养老护理机构，为长者送上节日祝福。

在 Driftwood Healthcare Center 的慰问演出中，南湾腰鼓队、旗袍队、舞蹈队、太极队轮番登场，尽展中华文化风采；夏威夷呼啦舞、唱歌、铜管乐演奏与钢琴独奏等交相辉映，奏响多元文化和谐乐章。欢歌笑语萦绕厅堂，掌声喝彩此起彼伏，长者们笑逐颜开、手舞足蹈，满堂温馨。

众善汇暖流，同心谱新篇。此次跨社团、跨世代的爱心行动，不仅以真情陪伴温暖长者，更让青少年在躬身践行中感悟敬老之义、传承仁爱之心，彰显南湾社区团结协作、守望相助的公益情怀。
